POTO, KNIVES, DRC

The Poto knives have all been vetted as being authentic with signs of use and age. Some have replaced handles (26, 28 and31).

Many of these knives originally had a fur ball on the handle; on most of ours that is completely lost and the original handles may have been replaced. Unlike many galleries which grind down and polish the blades, we have left these with the original patina intact. Most have subtle, but intricate designs embossed into the blade portion.

These double-sided forged iron knives exist in a variety of shapes. They were originally used for ceremonial purposes and probably date from the 20th century.
