Old Mbete figures are very rare. Despite its appearance, this figure shows no evidence of age or use and was probably made to be sold. There is some wood loss on the crest above the head. The top layer of paint (darker) is fragile and has largely been lost. The lower, white layers are thinner and much more stable.
