This piece is authentic, on canvas, but has signs of use and loss of a few beads (see details above).

This beaded garment, made by and worn by women, was for ceremonial occasions. It defined one's status, progressing from girlhood to womanhood. The Jocolo, with it's five fingers, was reserved for married women.
