TUAREG, STORAGE POST 53
59" high (61.5" on base) x 27" wide
$1000

This large Bela post has been vetted as authentic with signs of use and age. It is enhanced with some incised lines and leather binding on both arms.

Simultaneously utilitarian and decorative, carved posts served various functions in Tuareg tents: holding up wall mats, dividing living spaces and supporting storage containers of various sorts. These large Y-shaped posts were used in pairs for storage of rolled objects (mats, blankets, clothing) laid between the two forks.
