Despite its appearance, this Baule figure shows no evidence of age or use and was probably made to be sold.
This figure exhibits the Baule love for fine detail and elegant carving. The crack on the base is old and stable. There is a small missing piece on the right buttock. The figure's surface is rougher and contrasts nicely with the precise elegance of the head.
