In spite of its appearance, we believe this mask was carved for the collecting market.
On this helmet mask the superstructure is turned perpendicular to the face, rather than parallel to it. There are three damaged areas on the front projecting edge, plus on the nose (see detail below). The lowest front white section ( just above the face) has been repainted, possibly hiding a repair. The mask stands on its own, without a stand.
