This Dogon figure has been vetted as being authentic with significant signs of use and age.
This interesting fragment is from what must have been a very strong figure with nice detail. Deciding it was worth saving but fragile, a previous owner did a noticeably crude repair with a kind of wood filler to make it stable enough to have mounted. We have done nothing to disguise or redo that work.
