These Ejagham style animal headdresses show no evidence of age or use and were probably made to be sold.

These large, skin-covered headdresses (crest masks) are attached to a basketry base which is worn on top of the head. They represent imaginary animals: either crocodile heads crowned with antelope horns or with a woman's curled coiffure.
PLEASE NOTE: The dimensions are represented as follows: length is measured from the tip of the nose to the t0p of the horns; width is measured from one side of the horns to the other; depth is measured from the base of the basket to the highest point on the mask (face or horns).
