This piece has been vetted as authentic, showing signs of use and age.
Staffs made of iron and brass were displayed in royal compounds to affirm kingly power. Usually depicting a king with related motifs, they were called "Asen" and commemorated past rulers. The figure has been lost but there are four elements left defining the space. All but one of the hanging ornaments are missing. There are traces on light blue paint on the support which contrasts nicely with the rusty patina.
The stand is included.
