Man's Robe 14
100
" wide x 51" high
$400, with pants
SOLD
Created from strip-woven cotton cloth similar to Yoruba Ashoke, these were joined, then embroidered in the traditional patterns such as "eight knives", and several other elements including the numerous eyelets called "a thousand ant holes". These garments would have been used for special occasions. They can be worn, the backs are decorated as well, or displayed by hanging.
This robe shows very intricate embroidered patterns on a textile with open weave and flying threads. It is in good condition, with a slight discoloration the back top edge and a small smudge on the upper left on the pants. The pants have a drawstring, one size fits all.
