HAUSA
Man's Robe 17
86" - 100" wide x 50" high
$300
SOLD

Created from strip-woven cotton cloth, these were joined, then embroidered in the traditional patterns such as "eight knives", and several other elements including the numerous eyelets called "a thousand ant holes". These garments would have been used for special occasions. They can be worn, the backs are decorated as well, or displayed by hanging.

This robe shows very intricate and heavily embroidered patterns and is in fair condition, with a faint discoloration around the collar and the top front. Some of the seams are a little loose. The robe is 86" wide as photographed but if stretched out it measures 100" wide.
