LUBA STYLE BELL 1, DRC

LUBA
Bell 1
13" high x 4.5" wide x 3" wide
$200
SOLD

A Luba bell is typical of the prestige objects belonging to chiefs and important officials. Often embellishing objects with a female figure, the Luba believed that women mediated between kings and the spirit world. Bells and gongs would be used during investiture rituals.

In spite of its appearance, we believe this bell (with working clapper inside) was made to be sold.
