This mask has been vetted as authentic, dating from the late 19th Century.
This mask was vetted by Daniel Mato, author (with Charles Miller III) of Sande, masks and statues from Liberia and Sierra-Leone.
Except for a small break at one eye (see detail) this old mask is in excellent condition. Some of the metal strips are broken and have parts missing. The holes for attaching a raffia collar are rectangular. The interior has not been darkened.
