This mask has been vetted as authentic, dating from the first quarter of the 20th Century.
This mask was vetted by Daniel Mato, author (with Charles Miller III) of Sande, masks and statues from Liberia and Sierra-Leone.
This old mask has visible wood loss on the back, face and sides. A hole in the top, evident from the side view, extends through to the inside of the mask. Some small remnants of the raffia collar remain. The interior has been darkened.
