This mask has been vetted as authentic, dating from the first half of the 20th Century.
This mask was vetted by Daniel Mato, author (with Charles Miller III) of Sande, masks and statues from Liberia and Sierra-Leone.
This old mask has minor wood loss and cracks on top. There is a heavy glued repair around the left ear that does not show clearly in a photograph. Some of the metal strips are broken and have parts missing. Part of a string used to attach the raffia collar remains. The interior has been darkened.
