This mask has been vetted as authentic, dating from the first half of the 20th Century.
This mask was vetted by Daniel Mato, author (with Charles Miller III) of Sande, masks and statues from Liberia and Sierra-Leone.
This fine old mask has minor wood loss overall and is missing some pieces of the elaborate top. There is a stable crack on the back. The eye openings for the wearer are at the top of the neck (see detail below). The interior has been slightly darkened.
