This mask has been vetted as authentic, dating from the middle of the 20th Century.
This mask was vetted by Daniel Mato, author (with Charles Miller III) of Sande, masks and statues from Liberia and Sierra-Leone.
This interesting mask has five holes for fastening something higher up on the neck. It is missing one leg of the inverted pot on the top and has red paint on the lips. The eye openings for the wearer are at the top of the neck (see detail below). One is filled in. The interior has been darkened.
