This mask has been vetted as authentic, dating from the middle-late 20th Century.
This mask was vetted by Daniel Mato, author (with Charles Miller III) of Sande, masks and statues from Liberia and Sierra-Leone.
There is some wood loss on the left side of the neck and two holes on that side of the neck where the mask was carved too thin (see photograph above). The repairs were repainted. The eye openings for the wearer are at the top of the neck (see detail below). The interior has not been darkened.
