This mask has been vetted as authentic, dating from the first half of the 20th Century.
This mask was vetted by Daniel Mato, author (with Charles Miller III) of Sande, masks and statues from Liberia and Sierra-Leone.
This mask has some wood loss down the left side of the neck and on the tip of the nose. There is a long repaired crack down the right side behind the ear and a smaller stable crack on the face (see detail below).The raffia collar is sparse. The interior has not been darkened.
