This Nupe pot has been vetted as authentic, with signs of age and use.
There is one chip on the top rim plus a small stable crack (see top of third picture). The top band and the bottom have nicely incised designs. The bottom half is covered with delicate detailing in between the bolder lines.
The base is rounded so the raffia ring, similar to what would aid in carrying a filled pot on the head, is included.
