This figure is fashioned of carved wood covered with leather. Despite its appearance we believe this figure was made to be sold.
Although we do not know their specific significance, double figures are quite a common subject for sculpture among the peoples that live in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Pere are neighbors of the Lega.
