This panel has been vetted as authentic with signs of use and age.
The beadwork on this panel, in two triangular areas, is in excellent condition, with no bead loss. The cowrie shells are evenly brown. The metal embossed strips form a common X-shape design. The overall cloth is worn but intact and still has the fabric strips that hang off the bottom, but they and the strap have probably been replaced. The fiber board inside the cloth is rigid.
The panels are worn, usually in pairs ( 5 and 6 are a pair), in public ceremonies by Ifa priestesses. The measurement is the height of the panel and strap followed by the width of the panel.
