This panel has been vetted as authentic.
This old panel has significant damage to the wooden braces inside the panel in the upper left corner, (upper right on the front view photo.) Some cowries are missing in that corner. The cowries on this panel, in four triangular areas are bisected with metal embossed strips to form a common X-shape design. The overall cloth is worn ( torn and stained on the back) but intact and still has the fabric strips that hang off the bottom..
The panels are worn, usually in pairs, in public ceremonies by Ifa priestesses. The measurement is the height of the panel and strap followed by the width of the panel.
