This tray has been vetted as authentic but with no signs of use or age.

These objects were most probably used as offering vessels, for kola nuts or chalk, and placed on altars associated with the Igbo Ikenga cult. A complex structure of beliefs, relating both to systems of personal power and community cohesiveness, is associated with this cult.
